Allow me to share what my life used be like and what it looks like now. The powerful evidence I discovered provided me with the knowledge that God is real! That knowledge formed a solid foundation of understanding and stability for me, as I was drawn to discover what Jesus Christ wanted me to do.

As a young man, I had resigned myself to a self-perceived understanding that man creates God in his own mind. I thought that I had the world pretty well figured out. My theory was that man is a very needy creature. When troubles hit, he searches for someone or something to meet his needs. Therefore, in his mind, he created God to take care of those needs. I thought it was perfectly logical so I tucked that picture into a comfortable cubbyhole in my mind and proceeded through life.

When our girls turned ages two and four, my wife was determined to find a good church for them. She knew better than to ask me to get involved. I wasn’t about to enter any church.

After checking out many different possibilities, she was referred by a trusted friend to Scottsdale Bible Church. Every Sunday she attended the service, while the kids went to their classes. After a few months, I noticed how much she was enjoying those Sundays. My curiosity began to increase. Finally, I told her that I wanted to join her and the girls.

I had many questions and many doubts, but I remember hoping I would find something that would give me clear answers. For me, there had been a barrier of non-believability.

For me, religion was based on a foundation of feelings – not facts, logic, and common sense. Not only that, I had no rational reason to believe that God and Jesus Christ were real. Little did I know that my life was about to change dramatically and forever.

I was expecting to have religion pressed upon me, but to my surprise, the ongoing message wasn’t about religion. Instead, it was about a personal relationship with Jesus Christ who wants to draw me close to Him.

The Sunday messages occasionally introduced scientific and historical evidence that my demanding, rational mind needed. Everything was provided with in-depth logic and remarkable clarity. Additionally, the truth of fulfilled prophecies was undeniably powerful. The evidence gradually revealed to me an understanding of the awesome reality of God!

My wall of non-believability was replaced with a solid foundation of knowledge. The evidence gave me the rational confidence I needed, which allowed me to make a decision to learn more about what Jesus wanted me to do. In the Bible, I discovered His purpose and desire for me. Before long, I was deep in prayer, asking Jesus Christ to become my Lord and Savior. Jesus has given us a marriage filled with a peaceful, more tolerant, and more committed love.

Although life still has its pain and challenges, we enjoy an ongoing peace we had never known. It’s now been over 25 years, and we continually thank and praise Jesus. It’s amazing to see the joy and unity in our family and in the day-to-day lives of our children and grandchildren. My life is now filled with everyday peace; I, who was once a doubting skeptic.

The person who has made the greatest impact on my life is Dr. Darryl Del Housaye, former pastor of Scottsdale Bible Church. Later, he became the president of Phoenix Seminary. Under his teaching, I received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior at age 50 in 1995.

Darryl’s Sunday messages were recorded on audio cassettes and made available to members. He taught by going through books of the Bible verse-by-verse. As he did so, he would weave a tapestry of knowledge by adding points of interest from other related verses in the Bible. He included evidence from science and history. Also, he would interweave the reality of fulfilled prophecies. Then, at the end of each service, he would wrap everything up by applying God’s Word to live out our daily lives.

As a new believer, I was anxious to learn so I checked out five audio cassettes each week starting with the book of John. I had been told it took Darryl a couple of years to go through the book of John, which is only about 35 pages. Then I did the same for the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and Romans. I was very excited and hungry for knowledge so I gathered key evidence and saved it on my computer. I wanted to be prepared so I could share evidence that supports the Bible, Jesus Christ, and Eternal Life.

The second biggest influence in my life has been Leadership Productivity Forum. The group’s primary focus is to blend Biblical principles with highly organized, business planning. Our primary spiritual focus has been to have a prayerful, ongoing personal relationship with Jesus Christ and to rely on Him for wisdom and guidance. That daily relationship has impacted my life with peace, gentleness, love, and a longing for Heaven as my eternal home.

In high school, I had been a member of the National Honor Society, a student body officer, and sports editor of the yearbook. That was followed by two years of college before I entered the business world and eventually formed a corporation that assisted people by making car buying easy, while helping them make wise decisions. After 35 years I retired and enjoyed writing about my favorite subjects, Jesus Christ and Eternal Life.

My passion eventually became a commitment to publish a book that provided powerful evidence that people had rarely seen before. That evidence from Science and the Bible comes alive and reveals the awesome reality of God. That reality prepares you for the perfect purpose that leads to everyday peace.
